For those in financial need, this fee will be reduced or waived.

Registration Forms

Attendance
Weekly attendance is expected of each child.  If your child will be absent from class, please call Ann Marie Hunzinger at 315-337-0990.  Please be sure that your child arrives to class on time and ready to begin.  A door monitor will be posted at the door 15 minutes prior to class to let students in.  There is a great deal of information to cover in a short period of time and every minute counts!

Meetings
Two general meetings for all parents will be planned: once in the Fall and once in the Spring. These meetings will be announced in advance and will take place during the time your child attends class. These gatherings will offer a time for orientation, meeting our volunteer catechists and helpers, and to view your child's work.

A door monitor will wait at the entrance 15 minutes before class to let people in.

Note: If a child is to be dismissed before the end of class, a written note from the parent/guardian is required.

Absences
If your child will be absent from class please call the Director. Your child is asked to make-up missed lessons at home. Excessive absences could possibly result in a child having to repeat the same grade level next year. The Director in consultation with the parents will determine this.

Please notify the Director if there is a difficulty in attendance.

If there is a conflict due to sports, Scouts, dance etc., consult with the adult leader/coach of that activity for permission to be excused. Adult leaders are parents too, and they understand the value of regular attendance at Church classes, Mass, and other events.

We will do our best to work with your schedule.

Assignments and Evaluations
All students need to bring their religion books to EVERY class unless told otherwise.  Home assignments will be given every week and must be completed and returned to class.  Progress reports are given in January and May and are based on your chil's class and home assignments.  attendance and participation in class.

As disciples of Jesus, our children are to be on their best behavior, respectful and courteous to all. If there are repeated difficulties with conduct, the parents will be notified.

Safety Procedures
For the safety of our children, when Grades K-8 are in session the doors will be locked and monitored by a volunteer. Parents may walk their child into the building and are welcome to stay for the session. All classes are supervised by a responsible adult.

Children, who are not enrolled in our program, may attend a session as a guest, but must have a letter from their parents and prior permission of the Director.

At dismissal, we invite parents to either enter the main body of the Social Hall or to remain outside. Please keep clear of the hallways, the stairs or the vestibules. These areas must be open for safety precautions. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Please use caution when driving in the parking lot at drop off or dismissal times. Vehicles should remain clear of the circle outside the doors to the Social Hall.

In the event of an emergency evacuation of our premises during class hours, all children and volunteers will be sheltered at the ACE Hardware store on 115 Black River Blvd., located across the parking lot from the Social Hall entrance. Parents will be notified via telephone as soon as possible. We are grateful to our friends at ACE for this arrangement.

Permission Forms will be required with a parent/guardian signature for any events or trips outside of the parish premises.

In case of illness or an accident during session hours, a parent will be called. If they cannot be reached, the emergency contact will be notified. If it is serious, 911 will be summoned immediately, and the parent(s) will be called.

Cancellations
Inclement weather cancellations will be posted on the following radio & TV stations: 950AM; Ch. 10. We do not go according to Rome Public Schools closure schedule. Please call or check the stations listed for our closures.  Also right here on our website.

Communication
Please contact the Director with your questions and concerns. Also, our volunteer catechists welcome your comments and questions.

Regular announcements of our activities will be posted in the Sunday parish bulletin and on our website. Be sure to ask your child (check their books) for handouts distributed in class. Also, please notify the office if your phone number and/or address change during the year, or if you move out of the parish. This information is important for our records.

Also, we post pictures of our Faith Formation events on our website
and on the parish bulletin board (we do not include their names).
If you do not wish to have your child's photo used, please contact the Director.
